Mimmenuk is getting a new home, so please bear with us while we are finishing new pages and loading picture. We apologize for the inconvenience. My old sever crashed and my www.alaskanmalamutes.com site is no longer operational for the moment.

Mimmenuk Registered Alaskan Malamutes makes its home in Beautiful Southern Ontario Canada. We are nestled deep in the woods, only a stone's throw away from most major centers and close to three major USA border crossings. We have been breeding, showing and working this wonderful breed since 1998 but have been owned by some members since 1994. We only breed dogs that meet up to the breed standard and have all their health clearances. Our philosophy is that 'JUST BECAUSE IT COMES INTO SEASON, DOES NOT MEAN IT NEEDS TO BE BRED'
If you are looking to add an Alaskan Malamute puppy or older dog to your family, please take the following into consideration. ALL Alaskan Malamutes are strong willed and independent thinkers. They are not robots and they are not for the weak of heart or first time dog owners, unless you do alot of research and are up to a big challenge.
Please do not contact us if you live in a Condo or an Apartment or do not have a proper fenced in yard. Malamutes are working dogs. Even though Malamutes make wonderful family pets, if properly introduced, trained and socialized, they retain many of their primitive inherent attributes. All inquiries are carefully screened, to make sure that your lifestyle and family circumstances are suited to the breed. We also take the initiative to choose and match the right puppy to go with your lifestyle. Do your research, make an informed decision. Contact Us with any questions that you may have.
'THERE IS ONLY ONE REASON TO BREED, IT IS 'TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE BREED.' Most hobby breeders, breed first and foremost for themselves, always looking to find that special dog to add for the future. If you find a breeder that is producing large amounts of puppies in a year, or one that has puppies constantly available or due, ask yourself WHY?
Someone who is producing a large number of puppy's for profit, to accommodate color, or to just fill orders, is a PROFITEER, a COMMERCIAL BREEDER. BEWARE of breeders, who have lots of puppies for sale or due.
There are certain situations, when a breeder will have an older dog for placement, one that either did not mature into the original expectations of the breeder, therefore this dog will not be used in the breeding program or it could be a dog that was returned. In either of these situations a breeder will be looking for a suitable forever home.
